What's Burn This (2019) Like?
Tragedy strikes when Robbie, a talented dancer, is killed in a tragic boating accident. Many people in Robbie's life are deeply affected by his sudden death and that includes Anna, who is his best friend, roommate and dance partner. Denial is the order of the day for this show and it seems all the characters will suffer from it. Robbie's death brings Anna together with a stranger and the chemistry cannot be ignored, despite the period of mourning. With a nod to the AIDS crisis that was center stage at the time of the writing of this piece, Burn This develops into a heartrending story about relationships, identity, and love.
Is Burn This (2019) Good for Kids?
The show is most appropriate for those over the age of 12. Children under the age of 4 are not permitted in the theatre.
Burn This (2019) on Broadway Background
After a long search for a suitable venue this four-character play will finally open at the Hudson Theatre where it was first due to open in 2017. Tony nominees David Furr and Brandon Uranowitz join Keri Russel and Adam Driver in the 2019 production with brand new staging and scenery. Burn This was originally seen off-Broadway in 1987 and was later due to start on Broadway in early 2017. That version of the show starred Jake Gyllenhall, but was cancelled due to "scheduling conflicts" and the show failed to open in 2017.
