What's Female Troubles Like?

Elinor Benton, is an unmarried woman in 19-century England and finds herself unexpectedly pregnant and not sure what she is supposed to do. Her friends do their best to rally around her and they set off on a Victorian-era girls trip to London to find a midwife - who is infamous for offering women "cures".

The show seeks to illuminate the present-day question of pitching women’s rights against fetus rights. Back in the Victorian days abortions were completely illegal and back-street abortions were often the only choice for women. Nowadays they are quite commonplace, but have things really changed?

With today's public now asking about whether the fetus has rights and will the government make a return to make abortions illegal, Elinor Benton's story illuminates the subject matter from a totally new perspective.

Elinor Benton's story seeks to illuminate the issue in a modern and balanced way with some light-hearted circumstance thrown in for good measure.
