In Fish in the Dark, the protagonist is met with ultimate loss of losing a parent. The grieving process that the family undergoes is a little different that most can relate to as the siblings are in disagreement of their late father’s will. The obstacles of whether who should receive most of the inheritance or who is left to take care of their elderly mother are some of the precarious scenarios that arise within the story.
What's Fish in The Dark Like?
The play is inevitably a comedy. Though little information has been revealed about the plot and characters, David has stated that the story involves a death in the family. Fish in The Dark on Broadway Background
Larry David, the co-creator of “Seinfeld”, and creator and star of “Curb Your Enthusiasm,” is making his stage debut as both actor and writer. Fish in the Dark will begin performances at the Cort Theatre on February 2, 2014, with an official opening night on March 5, 2014. The production will star David in a role very similar to himself, perhaps just himself with another name, he has said. The production will be directed by Anna D. Shapiro, who won a Tony Award for her helming of August: Osage County, and was also behind This Is Our Youth and Motherf**ker with the Hat. The show is produced by Scott Rudin, who always rises to the occasion with stellar design team and production value. The design team is made up of Todd Rosenthal on sets, Ann Roth doing costumes, and Brian MacDevitt on lighting design.
