Lord of the Dance: Dangerous Games comes to Broadway after a sold out run in London. For a limited eight week engagement only, this exciting Irish dance musical will make its New York debut at the Lyric Theatre. The show is created by Michael Flatley, the Irish-American dancer and choreographer who is best known around the world for shows including Riverdance, Warlords, Feet of Flames, and Celtic Tiger.

What's Lord Of the Dance: Dangerous Games Like?

This is a very exciting moment in the history of Lord of the Dance. Michael Flatley will be making his Broadway debut in the show. He is featured in a special appearance at the end of each show. He will not be performing in matinees, however, and furthermore he will not be featured in the evening shows on November 18, November 19, December 4, or December 5. In any case, the entire cast of performers is extremely talented, also including Morgan Comer, Cathal Keaney, and James Keegan. The show is directed by Michael Flatley and the score is composed by Gerard Fahy. In addition the Broadway run, the show will return to London’s West End with performances through the holiday season, from October 10, 2015 to January 3, 2016, this time at the Playhouse Theatre.

Lord Of the Dance: Dangerous Games on Broadway Background

Michael Flatley is of Irish background but grew up in the south side of Chicago. By the age of 17, he earned the title of World Irish Dance champion at the youngest age ever. Lord of the Dance first premiered in 1996 in Dublin, Ireland. In 1997, the show was performed at the Academy Awards. In 1999 and 2000, Lord of the Dance was performed at Epcot Center in Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. Another troupe performed the show in Disneyland Paris in 2002 and 2003. Since that time, there have been two different troupes performing the show on tours throughout the world, one in Europe and Asia, and another in North America and other parts of Europe. This specific incarnation of Lord of the Dance, entitled Dangerous Games, had its world premiere at the London Palladium, and is now on tour for over 200 days in 15 countries.
