The Heidi Chronicles follows a woman named Heidi Holland from high school in the 1960s until her career in the 1980s as a successful art historian. Throughout this period, she has a number of romantic encounters, in particular with a man named Scoop Rosenbaum with whom her relationship remains in the realm of the platonic.
What's The Heidi Chronicles Like?
The play can be considered a feminist dramatic masterpiece. The Heidi Chronicles deals with many issues regarding the changing role of women over this period in history, culminating with her adopting a child on her own. The relationship between Heidi and Scoop is so intimate that historically, two different pairs of actors have married following playing those parts (Joan Allen and Peter Friedman and Brooke Adams and Tony Shalhoub).
Is The Heidi Chronicles Good for Kids?
The show may be inappropriate for children under the age of 10. Children under the age of 4 are not permitted in the theatre.
