Afghanistan is a divided country on the verge of war and two childhood friends are about to be torn apart. It’s a beautiful afternoon in Kabul and the skies are full of the excitement and joy of the upcoming kite flying tournament.
Neither of our two main characters, Hassan or Amir, can foresee the terrible incident which will shatter their lives forever. But for today there are together, but only for today.

The Kite Runner on Broadway Background
The original Kite Runner book was originally published in 2003, and became a bestseller across the globe. It has since been published in 70 countries, selling 31.5 million copies in 60 languages.
This powerful story has been adapted into a Broadway production that began in London's West End in 2021 and came to Broadway in 2022
Show Performances in California and London
The show premiered at San Jose Repertory Theatre in California in 2009 and over the next few years the show played at various locations in the UK.
The Broadway version of the production first appeared at Wyndham's Theatre in London's West End in December 2016 where it played a limited run until March 2017.
The production returned to the West End at the Playhouse Theatre on in June 2017 which ran until August 2017.
The Kite Runner’ Sets Friday Performances For Masked Audiences Only
The Kite Runner now requires audiences to wear masks at all future Friday night performances. This is the first Broadway production to adopt a hybrid masking policy.
