The Nap centers on the world of snooker, the British version of billiards. Dylan Spokes is the young, fast-rising star of the snooker world. Before a pivotal tournament, Dylan is warned of the consequences of match fixing and he is thrown into the dirty underbelly of the sport with a few laughs to boot.
What's The Nap Like?
The Nap may be a misleading title for American audiences unfamiliar with snooker lingo. The nap refers to the direction of the surface fibers of a snooker table. When you run your hand in one direction it will be smooth, rub it in the other and it will be rough. That is the nap; similar to the concept of going with or against the grain.
In this light-hearted show Dylan must decide if he is going to go with or against his own morals of fair play. Dylan dreams of winning the World Championship and must decide if his dream is worth jeopardizing his honor. There are several eccentric characters pressuring him to make underhand deals to guarantee his victory including his ex-convict father, sassy alcoholic mother, witty manager, and an infamous gangster. The plot focuses on this group’s combined attempt to have Dylan tank a frame and fix the match, but the smart dialogue and colorful characters steal the show.
Is The Nap Good for Kids?
Despite its lighthearted format, The Nap is not the best fit for younger children due to its adult content
